70th Post and the Truth about my Blog!

First, I can't believe this is my 70th post on my blog. So excited! When I created this blog several months ago, I wasn't sure where I was going with it. I feel I have to be honest with everyone, because everyone has been so kind to be with advice, caring, and just being there for me. You see folks, when I started the blog, I wanted to make money. I'm a 56 year female who two years ago due to Life had become disabled. After several accidents, I was to injured to work full time anymore. Can't stand for long....can't sit for long....sometimes I have to lay down for hours at a time. Life had dealt me a blow, and I felt sorry for myself. Lost alot, (material pocessions...house etc.) and had to get adjusted to living off of a social security check! At 56!!! I was devasted.
But then....something funny happened and I realized that I could still be a great participant in "this thing we call Life"!!! So, I pulled myself up by my bootstraps...and taught myself how to make jewelry....craft...and now paint! Everyone who saw my items loved them...and I realized I could sell them and make extra money. So, hence the idea of a blog. Thought I knew what I was doing. Thought I would just start see the money rolling in! Wrong! Because my heart was in the wrong place. Over these past months, I read so many wonderful blogs....learned so much.....and always been made to feel welcome when visiting another blog.
I have so many new ideas about what I would like to do and go! I'm going to share more of myself...my ideas...my stories( I'm the story teller in the family)....and I hope somewhere along the line  you will share with me....and if someone sees something they would like to have...well, that makes it all even better.
Thank you again for being my Followers, my Friends, and allowing me to enter your Life today. Also, I revamped my blog...made it a little more me...and tried to organize better. Blessings to each of you, Deborah

Good Sunday Evening Everyone, Well, if you have ever visited my Pinterest boards, you know that I love Bohemian ANYTHING! The colors.....the clothes.....the furniture.....I'm an "ole hippie", what do you expect! I have seen so many things online, from clothes to jewelry, that have touched my bohemian soul, but, of course, for the most part, I can not afford to buy what I like. So, I resort to learning how to make it instead, and recently, I had seen these zip tie bracelets and just didn't think they would turn out like the pictures, but they did! Easy Peazy! You will need the large zip ties, your jewelry making tools, strips of cloth, jewelry wire and scotch tape. Yes, scotch tape! I took a zip tie and made a circle to measure the size of my wrist, but then just added a "smidgen"and then cut off the end of the zip tie and taped the circle together. Everyone Loves Watermelon....Right?

Good Monday Evening Everyone, Wow, can you believe that it is already the 6th of May??? I can't.....it seems like it was just yesterday that I  moved into my new home in February! But, I'm not complaining...especially after all the rain we got last week, the Sun was out today....there was a nice breeze blowing....and I had breakfast with my 2 daughters this morning, and my 4 1/2 month old grandson! It was wonderful, and I knew Summer is on it's way! When I was growing up, one of my favorite times of the Summer was when you could see all the watermelons for sale, and my Daddy loved him some watermelon! He would go to the local little farmer's stand where all his buddies whom were farmers were selling fresh local produce. He would load up the car with watermelons and come home. We would ice them down in a cooler that morning and then he would make us go outside to play! So, the water hoses were brought out and slung over a tree branch.....water sprinklers were set

The Lady with Blue Eyes...New Folk Art Painting

Good Friday Evening Everyone, Wow, it has been an absolutely beautiful day down here in rural South Georgia in my hometown of Waycross. The Sun has been shinning most of the day.....a soft, gentle breeze has been whispering through the pines.....just an all around great day..... and what better time for me to premiere my newest, and I think my best, folk art painting. I had this idea in my head for along time....I wanted her to be a little whimsy.....slightly "hippieish".... magical....secretive.....and special. I used both acrylic and oil painting....I had an old frame in my craft closet....and decided to glue the frame to the mat.
